Helpful Hints on How to Use the Discussion (Message) Board
- If your Subject is "An Emotionally Healthy Church" your discussion details might say: "How should ministering out of who we are look different than ministering out of what we do?" or "Peter Scazzero states that, 'Humans, like icebergs, have many deep layers below the surface.' What ministries and training could we implement in our church to help people uncover the layers of poor emotional health?"
- If your Subject is "Sermon: When God Closes Doors," you could post on the discussion board the following, "Does anyone have Sermon Notes about how God closes doors in people's lives?"
- If your Subject is "The Tabernacle," you could ask a question like, "What resources have you used other than the Bible to support teaching and preaching about "The Tabernacle of Moses?"
- If you are looking for a recommended resource, your Subject could say "Bible Tools" and your Discussion question might be: "Which Concordance and Bible Dictionary do you find to be most helpful?"
- If you are inquiring about other churches that have particular ministries, your Subject could be "Starting a Food Pantry Ministry" and your question could be, "We are thinking of starting a Food Pantry Ministry to provide food for needy families during the holidays. Does anyone have experience with this, and if so, who is the contact person at your church that we may talk with?"
- If you are looking to "team up and partner" with another church, your Subject could be "Youth Night on Super Bowl Weekend" and the inquiry for Discussion could be: "We are planning a special outreach for teenagers around the theme of the Super Bowl, would any of your Youth Departments like to join in with us? We'd be willing to host it."
These are merely examples, so please feel free to enter statements, questions, and inquiries that are applicable to your situations and ministry needs.
